USPS revises five-day delivery plan

The US Postal Service is now planning on stopping delivery to street addresses and some processing, but it will not close post offices. Originally, USPS planned to shut down processing on Saturdays and Sundays. These changes are in response to business mailers in order to process remittance mail on Saturday. Remittance mail includes payments from customers to businesses as well as checks that banks send each other. Cutting Saturday processing would have meant that checks would not move for two days. Post Office Promises No 2010 Increases

With it becoming normal to hear about the stamp price increases, the United States Post Office has surprisingly announced that it will not raise prices during the 2010 calendar year. The Postal Service has increased prices every year since 2006, but it announced that there will not be a price increase for market dominant products including First-Class Mail, Standard Mail, periodicals, and single-piece Parcel Post. This service, along with Priority Mail and Express Mail, is ideal for sending personal correspondence, handwritten or typewritten letters, and bills or statements of account. It may also be used for advertisements and lightweight merchandise. First-Class Mail prices are based on both the shape and weight of the item being mailed. Postal Service Mailing Services Prices to Change on May 11

Annual Pricing Review Results in 2¢ Increase in First-Class Mail Stamp WASHINGTON - The Governors of the U.S. Postal Service have approved new prices for mailing services, including a 2-cent increase in the price of a First-Class Mail stamp to 44 cents. 2009 USPS Price-Change Stamps Unveiled

New Forever Personalized Stamp Envelope Introduced WASHINGTON - A noted author, a philanthropist and a racehorse champion are among the subjects featured on the Postal Service's 2009 price-change stamps. In addition, a new Forever personalized stamped envelope is being introduced. "The stamps we are issuing cover a variety of subjects and will have wide appeal across many audiences," said David Failor, manager, Stamp Services. "We are especially pleased to introduce a new Forever personalized stamped envelope. It will make quite an impression." Undeliverable-as-Addressed (UAA) – The New USPS Postal Regulation – Effective November 23rd.

Starting November 23, 2008 all mailing addresses must be updated every 95 days to meet the new USPS regulations.  All mail pieces are included in this regulation, not just automation rate and pre-sorted rate mail. USPS Revised their Undeliverable-as-Addressed (UAA) and Move Update Requirements

The United States Postal Service announces some changes in the way they currently handle undeliverable mails. Under this new requirement, the mailing industry is required to refresh their data every 95 days.
